here are a couple more pictures of maria's new haircut.
today we straightened it, so i still haven't seen her new haircut with curly hair.
we've been thinking about cutting it for some time. it was just too long to do anything with and it got in the way a lot. wednesday i finally said, "maria, let's cut your hair." thursday morning i took her into dollar cuts. she seemed pretty excited about it. she was skipping and hopping into the salon. she was, of course, quiet as a mouse while getting it cut, but, as she is quick to point out, she was very good while the girl cut her hair.
she apparently had forgotten about it this morning. she had been up about an hour and a half when she suddenly yelled at me from another room, "mom, is my hair still cut?" it was so funny.
she really likes her new do. today she said that if her hair grows she just wants to cut it again. she also likes her hair straight. go figure. my hair has always been straight and i love to curl it.
i almost feel like i've done something bad. her beautiful long, curly hair was something she got complemented on all the time. it was like it was a part of who she was. now i've gone and cut it short and taken the curl out of it - but she seems very happy with the change and ethan and i think it looks really cute, too.
this is at my mom's house. hudson was pretty busy playing and didn't really seem this tired to me. i guess the swinging motion just got to him. when my mom pointed it out to me his head was actually resting on the handle. by the time my phone was ready to take a picture he'd jerked up but was still asleep. i had to take the picture quickly because he was swaying back and forth about to fall off.
