camping

we went camping this last weekend in the uintas. it was fun but a lot of work. camping with four little kids is crazy!

my cute family by the provo river.

maria caught three fish! she looks nervous in the picture because that big fish on the end wasn't dead yet and had already bitten her once.

nothing comes between libby and her nap time.

out for a morning explore.

lincoln and maria. i think lincoln was the best camper of the bunch.

morning view of the mountains.

libby. crazy libby. i had to take maria to the bathroom and libby insisted on going . . . with her cereal bowl. she'd walk a yard or so then stop to take a bite. almost every picture i have of her is blurry because she would NOT stop moving around. always wandering. always making me nervous.

it got pretty cold at night but we all stayed warm in our sleeping bags - that is, as long as we stayed in our sleeping bags. libby was pretty good a wriggling out of hers as she slept.

every time i've looked through these pictures since we've been home the words of emmeline b. wells have come to my mind:

our mountain home so dear, where crystal waters clear
flow ever free, flow ever free,
while thru the valleys wide the flow'rs on ev'ry side,
blooming in stately pride, are fair to see.

the stream-let, flow'r, and sod be-speak the works of God;
and all combine, and all combine,
with most transporting grace, his handiwork to trace,
thru nature's smiling face, in art divine.

popsicles and swimming

after a very rainy and cool spring, summer has finally struck full force. the kids love getting outside more. they especially love eating popsicles and swimming in the kiddie pool.

looks tasty, doesn't it?

i just think little toes are so cute.

this is as much swimming as libby was comfortable with.

after dipping their bottoms in the cool water.

hudson offers more kisses than libby likes to take.

yummy popsicles!

we also just got back from a two-night camping trip. it was a lot of fun, but a lot of work! camping with four little kids is crazy! i'll post those pictures within the next couple of days.

fun for kids

so i like to visit glacier national park's webcam page every so often. my parents took us there almost every summer because we all loved it so much. it's my favorite place to go camping so i like to view the webcams every so often. they very recently put up a new camera. robins decided to build a nest right outside a window at park headquarters. they've positioned the camera so you can see right into the nest. it's pretty cool. there is a robin tending her eggs right now and they estimate her eggs could hatch around the fourth of july. pretty cool, huh?

my kids and i are going to keep checking back so we can see this little robin and hopefully her little chicks in the future.

i just thought that this might be fun for a lot of you so i thought i'd share. go check it out!

they also have a camera positioned to view an osprey's nest. you can't see in the nest like you can for the robin, but it is still cool.

i also like yellowstone national park's webcams. there is one for old faithful. it's fun to see it erupt and they make that easy for you by letting you know the estimated time for the next eruption.

lincoln 2 months old

i can't believe that lincoln will be 2 months old tomorrow. he's so much fun and is a really good baby. the kids love him and lincoln is very patient with all the hugs and kisses.

isn't he a cutie?

more lincoln

here are some updated pictures of lincoln. he is six weeks old now. he LOVES when people talk to him. he smiles and tries to talk back. he loves to cuddle, is a very happy boy and loves his tummy time.

isn't he so handsome?

here is one of his happy smiles.

cute little toesies.

i'd put him on his side and he managed to roll to his tummy from there.

he loves his siblings and cousins and they all love him. lincoln had a special moment with his cousin tyson(14) on sunday. as soon as tyson began holding him lincoln talked and smiled and laughed! that was his first laugh. and he just kept laughing at tyson. it was really cute.

family prayer

tonight hudson said the family prayer. it went like this:

"Heavenly Father, thank you for this day. please help us to sleep safely. please help the tigers not get us and please make the tigers kill (he meant 'die') and help the tigers to go to heaven. in the name of Jesus Christ, amen."

he wasn't trying to be silly or funny so i found it pretty funny. that kid cracks me up.
